Anelka is a proven Premiership goalscorer with strength and pace, great finishing ability.
He missed the decisive penalty in the Champions League final defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday(Anelka,we don't blame you for the miss. Had Van Der Sar gone the wrong way it will be a GOAL. Don't blame Grant for the miss, you're professional footballer, you are the one who SCREW IT!) claimed:
1) When he signed, he was promised he would play as a striker alongside Didier Drogba (OK, maybe they made the promise, but you're in a football team and there're 11 players! you are NOT playing with one striker only! Prove yourself even you are not playing alongside Drogba!)
2) He and Drogba never even play in training as a pair and have done so for half-an-hour in matches
3) He was not given enough time to warm up before coming on as a sub in Moscow (Both Belletti and Anderson came up as late substitute in the last minute of 2nd half Extra time, just to be involve in the Penalty kick, just that 1 Kick! Do they have any time to warm up? And yet both of them converted! Anderson is 20, he show his professionalism at the highest level.)
4) Grant is tactically inept to play him out of position
5) That he refused to take one of the first five penalties against Premier League rivals United in the Champions League final (Player with confidence can't wait to take the penalty! You don't have the confidence that's why you refuse to take it! That's the reason, not because you are playing as right back for 10 minutes you forgot how to take a striker penalty, you have ZERO confidence while walking to the 12 yards box!)
I believe Anelka will be fined for his comment. It might eventually lead to his exit from the club. Look at the bright side, he will break the record of most expensive player in football history AGAIN!
