WAYNE ROONEY and Cristiano Ronaldo were celebrating last night after the Manchester United pair escaped bans.
Roo was cleared of any wrongdoing by UEFA over his stamp on Aalborg midfielder Kasper Risgard in the Champions League last Wednesday.
And the FA and ref Mike Dean said Ronaldo’s kick at Spurs’ Michael Dawson on Saturday was also not worthy of disciplinary action.
Fergie blamed the media for highlighting it and feared a three-game ban for his fiery striker, 23.
Risgard had stud marks on his chest and both he and caretaker boss Allan Kuhn complained about the incident.
The United and England star escaped punishment from French ref Laurent Duhamel during the 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo, 23, also went unpunished at White Hart Lane. An FA spokesman said: “We contacted the referee, who confirmed he didn’t see the incident and, having reviewed footage, he confirmed he would not have sent the player off for violent conduct had he seen it.
“On that basis, no further action will be taken.”
